Bollywood’s ambitious project, “Ramayana,” directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has been making headlines in the Indian film industry for the past year and a half. Now, it’s set to rewrite the history books as the costliest Indian film ever made, with an astounding budget of $100 million (approximately Rs. 835 crores) allocated for “Ramayana: Part One.”
According to sources close to the project, the film is not just a cinematic venture but an emotional journey, aiming to captivate audiences globally with its grandeur. Renowned producer Namit Malhotra is leveraging his extensive global experience to ensure that “Ramayana” becomes a visual spectacle like no other.
The staggering budget, which exceeds Kapoor’s previous record-breaking film, “Brahmastra,” is indicative of the scale and ambition of “Ramayana.” With 600 days of post-production work planned, the film promises to deliver original and visually stunning content, elevating Indian cinema to new heights on the global stage.
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role of Lord Ram, the film also features Yash from “KGF” fame as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita. As the franchise grows, plans are in place to expand the budget further, aiming to set new benchmarks and redefine the landscape of Hindi cinema.
