BRAMPTON — Residents and travelers in Brampton are advised of major road closures today due to the Sikh Martyrdom Parade, also known as Nagar Kirtan.
The parade, a significant religious event for Brampton’s Sikh community, involves the singing of hymns (“Kirtan”) and will traverse several major roads. Starting at Dixie Road and Bovaird Drive East, the route proceeds eastbound along Sandalwood Parkway, crosses major north and south roads, and continues to Humberwest Parkway and Queen Street.
Peel Regional Police are assisting with the parade’s safe passage, which began at 11 a.m. and will conclude at 6 p.m. tonight.
