Samsung has issued a recall for more than 300,000 electric oven ranges in Canada, citing a potential fire hazard. Health Canada released a recall notice warning consumers that the front-mounted knobs on the ranges could be accidentally activated by humans or pets, leading to an increased risk of fire.
The recall follows 57 reported incidents and seven injuries in Canada. Samsung is offering free knob locks or covers to affected consumers to help mitigate the risk.
Customers are advised to ensure the ovens are turned off when leaving home or going to sleep and to keep children and pets away from the appliance. Affected model numbers can be found inside the range door or storage bin, and consumers can contact Samsung Canada for further assistance.
