Tesla has reshuffled its Cybertruck lineup, eliminating the long promised rear wheel drive model and replacing it with a more affordable dual motor all wheel drive variant. The new entry point now starts at 62,235 dollars out the door, positioning it well below the Premium AWD and Cyberbeast trims that can easily climb toward 80,000 dollars or more. For buyers who wanted a more attainable Cybertruck without sacrificing all wheel drive capability, this new configuration becomes the most accessible option.

At 62,235 dollars, the Dual Motor AWD Cybertruck lands close to several combustion powered competitors. A 2026 Ford F 150 XLT SuperCrew Hybrid 4WD undercuts it slightly at 60,655 dollars, while a 2026 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4WD with the twin turbo inline six comes in lower at 59,165 dollars. The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado LT Trail Boss Crew Cab nearly matches Tesla’s price at 62,795 dollars. Among electric trucks, however, the Cybertruck looks more competitive. It undercuts the Rivian R1T Dual Standard and the Ford F 150 Lightning XLT, though the Silverado EV WT remains less expensive on paper.

Reaching that lower price required compromises. The most significant change is the removal of the air suspension system. In its place is a conventional coil spring setup with adaptive dampers. As a result, towing capacity drops from 11,000 pounds in higher trims to 7,500 pounds, while payload falls from 2,500 pounds to 2,006 pounds. Those figures remain respectable but represent a meaningful reduction compared to the Premium version.

Feature reductions extend to the bed and cabin. The rear light bar is removed, and the truck receives more basic lighting treatment. While it retains a motorized tonneau cover, it loses the more advanced Vault system and cargo L tracks. Inside, the seven speaker audio system replaces the premium setup, active noise cancellation is removed, and the interior is limited to a single tactical gray theme. Only front seats are heated, with ventilation and rear seat heating deleted. Rear passengers also lose their dedicated display.

Despite the cost cutting, the base Dual Motor AWD Cybertruck retains key strengths. It still offers up to 325 miles of range, mechanical locking differentials front and rear, four wheel steering, and a powered front trunk. Buyers can add Full Self Driving Supervised via subscription, upgrade to 20 inch wheels, or choose the Terrestrial Armor package for enhanced off road durability. While it sacrifices some luxury and capability, the new 62,235 dollar Dual Motor AWD trim delivers a more balanced entry point into Tesla’s most unconventional pickup yet.
