Tesla is preparing to close an important chapter in its history with the release of limited Signature Series editions of the Tesla Model S and Tesla Model X, marking what is expected to be the final production run for the company’s longtime flagship luxury vehicles. The special editions are intended as a farewell tribute to two models that helped establish Tesla as a serious global automotive competitor.
Reports suggest the Signature Series versions will be produced in extremely limited numbers, with approximately 350 units combined between both vehicles. Of those, about 250 units are expected to be Model S variants, while the remainder will be Model X examples. Access to these vehicles is expected to be restricted primarily to invited customers, making the final editions highly exclusive collector oriented releases.
Visually, the Signature Series models will feature distinctive Garnet Red exterior paint paired with gold accent badging, including gold Tesla logos and Plaid identifiers. Additional styling elements may include black mirror caps, unique trim details, and special wheel configurations measuring 21 inches on the Model S and 22 inches on the Model X. The Model S version is also expected to include carbon ceramic brakes with gold calipers, further emphasizing the commemorative nature of the package.
Inside the cabin, both vehicles are expected to receive white Alcantara upholstery, Signature branded door sills, special numbered dashboard plaques, and gold accented Plaid seat badging. A unique lighting sequence and custom puddle lights are also expected to differentiate these vehicles from standard production models. The Model X Signature edition will retain its six seat configuration, while the Model S will remain a five seat sedan.
Each Signature Series vehicle will reportedly include Tesla’s Luxe Package as standard equipment, bringing Full Self Driving Supervised capability, lifetime complimentary Supercharging, and four years of premium maintenance coverage. Pricing is expected to approach the 160,000 dollar range for the Model X Signature edition, with the Model S version slightly lower. The farewell models are expected to coincide with a celebration event later this year, possibly at Tesla’s Fremont manufacturing facility where both vehicles have been produced for much of their lifecycle.
