The 2025 GMC Terrain has undergone a comprehensive redesign, elevating the compact SUV to new heights with advanced technology and a fresh, bold design. Set to launch later this year, the new Terrain will debut with the Elevation trim, followed by the AT4 and Denali trims in 2025.
Duncan Aldred, Global Vice President of Buick and GMC, emphasized that the 2025 Terrain offers the latest in premium technology and safety features, along with a striking new design inspired by other GMC models like the Yukon and Sierra 1500. The SUV’s rugged front-end aesthetic, coupled with the option of a two-tone roof, makes it a standout in its class.
Under the hood, all trims of the 2025 Terrain will feature GMC’s turbocharged 1.5-liter engine, producing 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with all-wheel drive. The Terrain also offers a maximum trailering capacity of 1,500 pounds.
The AT4 trim will be equipped with trail-capable technology and features such as a lifted ride height, metal underbody protection, all-terrain tires, and hill descent control. The Denali trim, on the other hand, will provide a more luxurious experience with heated seats in both rows, animated headlamps and tail lamps, and a choice of 19- or 20-inch wheels.
Inside, the Terrain is packed with technology, including a standard 15-inch infotainment touchscreen and an 11-inch digital driver information center. The SUV also boasts over 15 safety and driver assistance features, such as automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind zone monitoring.
Additional options include a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, and a power liftgate with proximity activation. The Terrain’s new tech-savvy interior ensures that it competes well with both luxury and non-luxury rivals, offering a compelling package for buyers.
While pricing for the 2025 GMC Terrain has not been released, it is expected to be higher than the current model, which starts at around $30,000. With its enhanced features and competitive positioning, the new Terrain is poised to make a strong impact in the compact SUV market.
