Arrests Made and Firearms Seized after Weekend of Violence Across Toronto, Images Released

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of arrests made and firearms seized after a weekend of violence across Toronto.
“Over the labour day long weekend, there were 11 shootings that took place across 10 Toronto Police Divisions. There were five firearm discharges, three shootings with injuries and three homicides.
Events like these can spread fear in communities across Toronto. We continue to work closely with the City and community members to try to get to the root cause of the issue.” said Inspector Paul Krawczuk at a press conference held on Tuesday, afternoon.
Over the weekend, Toronto Police Service members seized six firearms and laid charges against six people in relation to them.
On Friday, August 30, 2024, at approximately 8:58 a.m., police responded to a call for a Discharge Firearm in the Dixon Road and Islington Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
two male suspects attended a business in the area
while inside, a firearm was discharged into the ceiling
the suspects fled the area in a motor vehicle
no injuries were reported as a result of the shooting
a short time later, police identified the two suspects involved.
Members of the Guns and Gangs Task Force Centralized Shooting Response Team executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant and officers recovered items of evidentiary value related to the investigation including a firearm.

On Saturday, August 31, 2024, at approximately 5:45 a.m., officers investigated a call in the Lawrence Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
a man was investigated for assault and threatening
subsequent to the arrest a firearm was located
Hakim Irambona, 28, of Toronto was charged with:
two counts of Assault
Uttering Threats
Possess Firearm Without Holding a Licence
Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
Possess Loaded Regulated Firearn
Fail to Comply with Release Order

Possess Counterfeit Money
Introduce Counterfeit Money into Canada
He attended the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 106.
On Sunday, September 1, 2024, at approximately 2:13 a.m., police responded to a call for an assault in the Sudbury Street and Queen Street West area.
It is alleged that:
a man assaulted a woman and pointed a firearm at her on two occasions
upon arrest, a loaded Smith and Wesson Firearm was located on the accused
subsequent to arrest, officers conducted a Criminal Code Search Warrant and seized an extended magazine, a quantity of ammunition, oxycodone pill, and proceeds of crime
A Man, *21, of Toronto, has been charged with:
two counts of Point Firearm
two counts of Assault
two counts of Assault/Choking
Assault with Weapon or Imitation Weapon
Robbery/Theft with Violence or Threats of Violence
Carry Concealed Weapon
Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Firearm
Possess Firearm other than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence
Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
Possess Prohibited Device Knowing No Authority
Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Oxycodone)
Possess Proceed Obtained by Crime Over $5000

He attended the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 107.
*The accused is not being named to protect the identity of the victim.
On Monday, September 2, 2024,at approximately 2:36 a.m., officers conducted an investigation in the Roncesvalles Avenue and Queen Street West area where a man was arrested.
It is alleged that:
a loaded Glock 26 firearm, with 10 rounds of ammunition was located in his possession
Shaheed Bacchus Ali, 42, of Toronto has been charged with:
Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
Possession of a weapon
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
Possession of proceeds of crime
four counts of Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order
two counts of Possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance (Crack/Cocaine)
He attended the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 101.
On Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at approximately 1:51 a.m., police recovered a firearm in the Jane Street and Wilson Avenue area while investigating a stolen auto.
It is alleged that:
the occupants collided with a marked police car, injuring the officers
the occupants fled the scene on foot
a long gun with a barrel magazine was recovered from the auto
On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers conducted an investigation in the Dundas Street East and Mutual Street area
It is alleged that:
officers investigated the driver of a vehicle
during the investigation, a loaded Smith and Wesson Semi-Automatic handgun and ammunition was recovered from the vehicle
Joseph Malu, 33, of Vaughan was charged with:
