Homicide #22/2024, Kipling Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Homicide investigation.
On Thursday, April 18, 2024, at approximately 2:07 p.m., police responded to a call at a residence in the Kipling Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West area.
It is alleged that:
the accused assaulted and stabbed the victim
the victim had significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene
officers arrested the accused at the scene
the accused and the victim were known to one another
The victim has been identified as Antonio Alonzi, 90, of Toronto.
Massimo Alonzi, 32, of Toronto, has been charged with:
Second Degree Murder
He was scheduled to attend the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, April 19, 2024, in room 107 at 10 a.m.
