Man and Two Male Youths Arrested in Attempted Carjacking and Break and Enter Investigation, West Toronto area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of three arrests made in an attempted Carjacking and Break and Enter investigation.
On Friday, September 13, 2024, three suspects were involved in an attempted Carjacking and a Break and Enter in the West Toronto area.
It is alleged that:
a victim was returning to his vehicle when he was approached by the suspects in the Highway 427 and Rathburn Road area
one suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded his car keys
the suspects took cash that the victim had in his hand and the victim quickly jumped into the car and tried to close the door
when the victim could not get the car door closed, he got out and fled from the suspects
unable to get the car started, the suspects fled to their vehicle and drove off
It is further alleged that:
the same suspects later gained entry into a residence through a back patio door in the Dufferin Street and Queen Street West area
the residents were not home
the suspects took personal items and left through the side door
the suspects returned to their vehicle and attempted to drive off
As the suspects tried to flee the area in their vehicle, members of the Toronto Police Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force were in the area and located the vehicle. When an attempt was made to stop the suspect vehicle, it made contact with police vehicles, causing damage to several cars, before driving away.
A short distance later, officers were able to successfully stop the suspect vehicle. Three suspects were placed under arrest and two suspects were able to escape the area on foot.
The stolen personal items and a replica firearm were located in the vehicle.
Terrell McKenzie, 19, of Brampton, was charged with:
Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
Break and Enter
two counts of Disguise with intent
two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Fail to Comply with YCJA Sentence
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 105.
A male youth, 17*, of Toronto, was charged with:
Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
Break and Enter
two counts of Disguise with Intent
two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 107.
A male youth, 14*, of Toronto, was charged with:
Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
Break and Enter
two counts of Disguise with Intent
two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 107.
Two suspects remain outstanding.
