Man Arrested in a Theft Investigation, Queen Street West and Spadina Ave and Bloor Street West and Yonge Street area, Image Released

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Theft Under investigation.
The thefts occurred between Monday, June 24, 2024 and Friday, July 12, 2024.
On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, police arrested a man after identifying him as the suspect wanted in several Theft Under investigations in the Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue area as well as the Bloor Street West and Yonge Street area..
It is alleged that:
on several occasions the suspect entered into a commercial building
the suspect selected several different clothing items and proceeded to exit the store
the suspect made no attempt to pay for the items
the suspect committed a total of 9 thefts from the same business in the span of 30 days
Zakerie Ali, 29 of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
two counts of Theft Under $5000.00
two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
On Wednesday, July 24, 2024 further charges came to light and Zakerie ALli was additionally charged with:
seven counts of Theft Under $5000.00
seven counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
Investigators believe there may have be additional thefts by the suspect at other businesses. An image has been released.
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 301.
