Man Arrested in Personal Injury Collision Investigation, Personal Injury Collision #37/2025, Yonge Street and Churchill Avenue

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Personal Injury Collision investigation.

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, at approximately 3:24 p.m., police responded to reports of a Personal Injury Collision involving several pedestrians struck in the Yonge Street and Churchill Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

a 74-year-old male was driving a blue Volvo XC70 southbound on Yonge Street, north of Churchill Avenue
the vehicle mounted the curb on the northwest corner of the intersection and struck three pedestrians on the sidewalk
all three pedestrians were transported to hospital with serious injuries
two of the pedestrians, a 60-year-old female and 30-year-old male, sustained life-threatening injuries
the third pedestrian, a 29-year-old female, sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries
the male driver was also transported to hospital

The driver of the vehicle, Daniel Dubeau, 74, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

three counts of Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired to any Degree by BAC or Drug
three counts of Within 2 hrs. of Ceasing to Operate a Motor Vehicle is Impaired with BAC Equal to or Exceeding 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood
three counts of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm

He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 10 a.m., in room 106.

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.

Police are asking local residents, businesses and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
