Man Arrested in Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Investigation, Parliament Street and Wellesley Street East area, Images Released

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Possession of Property Obtained by Crime investigation.

In April 2025, the Toronto Police Service began an investigation in regards to an individual believed to be in possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking in the Parliament Street and Wellesley Street East area.

It is alleged that:

the suspect was purchasing stolen merchandise at an address

The investigation led officers to identify the suspect and his location, and a Criminal Code search warrant was executed.

It is further alleged that:

as a result of the search warrant, officers recovered approximately 500 bottles of stolen alcohol, with an estimated value of $27,000

Images of the recovered merchandise have been released.

On Sunday, April 27, 2025, Vickneswararajah Mailvaganam, 66, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime for the Purpose of Trafficking Over $5000

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in room 301.
