Man Arrested in Retail Robbery Investigation, Sheppard Avenue East and Morningside Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Retail Robbery investigation.

On Monday, May 12, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., police responded to a call for a Robbery in the Sheppard Avenue East and Morningside Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

the suspect entered a store wearing a mask to conceal his identity
the suspect produced a knife and made a demand for cash and cannabis products
the suspect took a quantity of cash and cannabis products before fleeing the area

Officers from 42 Division quickly responded to the area where they located the suspect and took him into custody.

It is further alleged that:

at the time of arrest, officers recovered the knife and the stolen property

Tyvaughn Bailey, 22, of Toronto, was charged with:

Robbery With Offensive Weapon
Disguise With Intent
Possession Property Obtained by Crime
Disobey Court Order

He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, Room 103.
