Woman and Male Youth Arrested in Carjacking and Retail Robbery Investigation, Stolen Vehicles Recovered, South Etobicoke and Markland Woods neighbourhoods, Image Released

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of two arrests made in a Carjacking and Retail Robbery investigation.
On Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 8:16 a.m., police responded to a call for a Person with a Gun in the Burnhamthorpe Road and Renforth Drive area.
It is alleged that:
a lone male suspect entered a store and began placing items into a shopping basket
the suspect requested to see a bottle of cologne, so an employee unlocked the glass display case
the suspect forcefully grabbed several bottles of cologne and began to leave
the suspect produced a handgun and waved it around as he fled the area
On Thursday, April 17, 2025, at approximately 5:18 p.m., police responded to a call for a Theft of Vehicle in the North Queen Street and Kipling Avenue area.
It is further alleged that:
the victim was sitting in their parked vehicle when four suspects approached
one suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim while making a demand for the vehicle
the suspects fled the area in the victim’s vehicle
Members of the Hold Up Squad commenced an investigation. At approximately 10:55 p.m., officers from the Halton Regional Police Service responded to a vehicle collision scene in the Lake Shore Road West and Bronte Road area. Officers located the victim’s stolen vehicle, observed one suspect fleeing on foot, and took them into custody.
A woman, 26, of Toronto, was charged with:
Robbery With a Firearm
Theft of Motor Vehicle With Violence
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
She was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in room 107.
On Friday, April 18, 2025, at approximately 12:26 a.m., police responded to a call for a Theft of Vehicle in the Spadina Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard West area.
It is further alleged that:
the victim was operating a taxi when they picked up a male passenger
an argument ensued about payment
the suspect exited the vehicle and forced the victim out of the driver’s seat
the suspect fled the area in the victim’s vehicle
On Monday, April 21, 2025, at approximately 2:29 a.m., police responded to a call for Unknown Trouble in the Bloor Street West and Islington Avenue area.
It is further alleged that:
the victim was walking to their vehicle when a lone male suspect approached
the suspect produced a handgun and made a demand for the keys
the victim turned over the keys and the suspect fled the area in the victim’s vehicle
On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at approximately 4:58 a.m., police responded to a call for a Theft of Vehicle in the Lake Shore Boulevard West and Royal York Road area.
It is further alleged that:
the victim was walking to their vehicle when a lone male suspect approached
the suspect produced a knife and a handgun and forced entry into the vehicle
the suspect fled the area in the victim’s vehicle
On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., police responded to a call for a Theft of Vehicle in the Burnhamthorpe Road and Mill Road area.
It is further alleged that:
a lone male suspect approached the victim as they exited their vehicle
the suspect grabbed their arm and made a demand for the keys
the suspect produced a handgun and forcefully took the victim’s keys
the suspect fled the area in the victim’s vehicle
Members of the Hold Up Squad continued their investigation and were able to identify a male youth suspect.
On Friday, April 25, 2025, members of the Hold Up Squad located the identified suspect and took him into custody.
It is further alleged that:
at the time of arrest, officers recovered a replica handgun and items of evidentiary value
An image of the replica handgun has been released.
A male youth, 17*, of Toronto, was charged with:
five counts of Robbery With a Firearm
Robbery
three counts of Theft of Motor Vehicle With Violence
Possession of Imitation Weapon
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
two counts of Possess/Use Credit Card Obtained by Offence
six counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order
six counts of Disobey Court Order
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in room 107.
All of the stolen vehicles were recovered.
No further description is provided for the outstanding suspects.
