Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup basmati rice, washed
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A pinch of saffron strands
- 2 tablespoons almonds, chopped
- 2 tablespoons pistachios, chopped
- 2 tablespoons raisins
Instructions:
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, bring the milk to a boil. Add the washed rice and reduce the heat to low.
- Simmer until the rice is cooked and the milk has thickened, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron. Cook for another 5-10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add chopped almonds, pistachios, and raisins.
- Serve warm or chilled, garnished with more nuts if desired.
