Ingredients:
- 500g basmati rice (soaked)
- 500g chicken or mutton
- 2 medium onions (fried until golden)
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp biryani masala
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 cup mint and coriander (chopped)
- 1/2 cup milk with saffron strands
- 4 tbsp ghee
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Marinate chicken or mutton with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, chili powder, biryani masala, and salt for 2 hours.
- Parboil rice with salt and drain.
- In a pot, layer marinated meat, fried onions, mint-coriander, and rice. Repeat layers.
- Pour saffron milk and ghee on top. Seal the pot with a lid and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
- Serve with raita or salad.
