The Volvo XC60 is the company’s 5-door, 5-seat mid-sized SUV. It is built on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), Volvo’s advanced modular product platform that underpins all Volvo cars in the 90 and 60 Series.
The XC60 carries the proud and confident face of Volvo’s design language, along with classic Volvo styling cues. Key features include the iconic Thor’s Hammer LED headlight design.
In the cabin, the XC60 provides a calm and balanced environment with a blend of high-end materials such in a sophisticated Scandinavian design. Interior materials, including luxurious leather-free options as well as the availability of the tailored steering wheel and crystal gear shift, offer further possibilities for personalisation.
The new exclusive Tailored Wool Blend upholstery, available in Recharge models, is made from 30 per cent responsibly produced wool and 70 per cent polyester with contrasting white piping, created to optimise the experience of contemporary, sustainable luxury.
The advanced air purifier system prevents up to 95 per cent of hazardous PM 2.5 particles from entering the cabin. No matter the conditions outside, the solution can help occupants enjoy better and healthier air quality, while having the possibility to monitor particle and pollen levels outside the car.
The 2023 Volvo XC60 also comes equipped with Recharge tyres for use all year round as standard or optional in Europe. These are the first tyres for year-round use to achieve A-class energy efficiency, an innovation that is in line with the company’s aim to offer more sustainable products.
Connectivity and infotainment
The Volvo XC60 comes equipped with an infotainment system jointly developed with Google, featuring built-in Google apps and services. Intuitive and convenient, this next generation infotainment system offers customers unprecedented personalisation and an unparalleled connectivity, which is further enhanced through the Digital Services package.
The centrepiece of the Digital Services package is the access to Google apps and services, which offer hands-free help with Google Assistant, best-in-class navigation through Google Maps and a broad offer of native in-car apps via Google Play. The Volvo XC60 is capable of receiving larger software and operating system updates over the air. This enables the car to keep evolving and improving over time, rather than being at its peak when it leaves the factory. Powertrain technology The XC60 Recharge is powered by our latest generation plug-in hybrid powertrain that delivers 350 (T6) or 455hp (T8). It features an 18.8kWh battery pack that extends the pure electric possibilities. Powered by the 107kW motor, the XC60 Recharge T6 and T8 provide up to 78km* (WLTP Combined) of pure electric range – an upgrade that enables more drivers to cover their daily driving needs on electricity.
With One Pedal Drive in the Recharge version, the driver can use the accelerator both for accelerating and braking the car: press for acceleration and lift the pedal for smooth braking all the way to standstill.
The XC60 is also available with a range of 48 Volt mild hybrid variants on both petrol and diesel powertrains. The output ranges from 197hp to 300hp. The mild hybrids offer smooth take-offs and up to 15 per cent fuel savings and emission reductions in real world driving.
Safety and driver assistance
The XC60 showcases Volvo Cars’ focus on automotive safety: the SPA platform has yielded the strongest Volvo cars to date thanks to the extensive use of boron steel, and it comes with numerous safety systems designed to protect people inside and outside the car.
The XC60 is equipped with Volvo Cars’ latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) sensor platform –a modern, scalable active safety system that consists of an array of radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors.
This platform enables the development and deployment of active safety systems, such as the detection of other road users, automatic braking and collision avoidance. Through the Pilot Assist function, it also allows for gentle driver support from standstill up to highway speeds.
