BRAMPTON, ON (May 8, 2024) – To celebrate sporting excellence and community contribution, the City of Brampton is inducting six remarkable individuals into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame for the year 2024.
On Tuesday, May 7, the City of Brampton hosted its 43rd annual Brampton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. This year’s inductees include:
- Faraz Saleem, Builder, Cricket
- Lexie Ward, Athlete, Trampoline/Gymnastics
- Louise Barton, Builder, Swimming
- Rick Hay, Veteran, Ice Hockey
- Sheldon Keefe, Athlete, Ice Hockey
- Steve Nijjar, Builder, Soccer
The Brampton Sports Hall of Fame is housed within the CAA Centre. Residents and visitors are welcome to visit to reflect and celebrate sporting history within the community.
Nominations for 2025 inductees are open. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to nominate potential inductees. The deadline for nominations is June 14, 2024.
