Ingredients:
For the Butter Chicken Sauce:
- 300g boneless chicken (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 cup yogurt (for marination)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (pureed)
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
- 1/2 cup fresh cream
- Salt to taste
For the Pizza:
- 1 large pizza base (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese (grated)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
- In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, red chili powder, turmeric, and a pinch of salt.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, mix well, and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (preferably 1-2 hours for deeper flavor).
Step 2: Cook the Butter Chicken Sauce
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook until the chicken is browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add tomato puree, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir well and let it cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
- Once the sauce thickens and the chicken is fully cooked, crush the fenugreek leaves between your hands and add them to the pan. Stir in fresh cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Set aside.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F).
- Place the pizza base on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread a generous layer of the butter chicken sauce over the base.
- Top with grated mozzarella cheese, ensuring even coverage.
- Add a few spoonfuls of the butter chicken pieces on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle red chili flakes and oregano (optional) for extra flavor.
Step 4: Bake the Pizza
- Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is crispy and the cheese is melted and golden.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
- Once the pizza is out of the oven, sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro over the top.
- Slice and serve hot with extra cilantro and a squeeze of lemon if desired.
