Charges Laid in Double Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have arrested and charged a Mississauga man in a double fatal motor vehicle collision.
On April 4, 2024, at 9:50 p.m., a green Audi sedan and a white Audi sedan were traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Dixie Road in the City of Mississauga. Both Audis collided with a left-turning Honda SUV as they entered the intersection at Dixie Road and Eglington Road. Following the impact, the driver of the white Audi lost control and collided with a hydro pole.
Both the driver and passenger of the white Audi were not wearing seatbelts and succumbed to their injuries.
The driver of the Honda SUV sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the occupants of the green Audi did not sustain any injuries.
On April 15, 2024, Nuel Vata, a 25-year-old man from Mississauga, was charged with the following offences:
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death (X2) Racing Speeding He will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on May 13, 2024. Mr. Vata’s driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
