Two teenagers, aged 13 and 16, were apprehended in connection to an armed carjacking in Brampton, which left the victim stabbed and injured. Additionally, an 11-year-old girl, part of the group of suspects, was released from custody.
According to Peel Regional Police, the incident occurred on Feb. 22, 2024, near a high school close to Kennedy Road and Queen Street. Allegedly, the victim was lured to the location via social media, whereupon the suspects emerged, threatening the victim. One of the suspects brandished a knife, demanding the victim’s keys, and subsequently stabbed and assaulted them before fleeing in the victim’s vehicle.
Following an extensive investigation, three youths were arrested, with charges including robbery, assault causing bodily harm, and wearing a disguise with intent. However, a fourth youth, a 17-year-old male from Brampton, remains at large, wanted for robbery and assault causing bodily harm.
The ongoing investigation may lead to further charges. The identities of the accused have not been disclosed under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
