Bike Helmets for Kids Initiative, Thursday, May 9, 2024, 10 a.m., St. Francis de Sales Catholic School, 333 Firgrove Crescent
On Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 10 a.m., the Toronto Police Service, the Toronto Catholic District School Board and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Associations (OTLA) will be supporting students at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School with the Bike Helmets for Kids Initiative.
Bike helmets are a crucial tool in keeping children safe as many families bike to and from school. It is important for children and their families to understand the significance of wearing a helmet for their safety.
The Bike Helmets for Kids Initiative teaches students the correct method of wearing a helmet, as well as provides education and awareness about bicycle helmet use.
“This helmet drive isn’t just about bike safety; it reflects the strong partnership between police and community,” said Superintendent Andy Singh. “Together, we’re working to protect our children and build a safer community.”
Local members of OTLA give generously to organize community partnerships and fund the cost of the bike helmets, which are distributed to schools in partnership with TPS.
Learn more by visiting OTLA’s Bike Helmet for Kids website.
Members of the public and media are encouraged to attend. A spokesperson from the Toronto Police and Toronto Catholic District School Board will be in attendance.
