Man Arrested in Multiple Retail Robbery Investigations

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in multiple Retail Robbery investigations.
Between Saturday, May 20, 2023 and Tuesday, January 23, 2024, police responded to seven robbery calls in the Danforth Avenue and Pape Avenue, Yonge Street and Finch Avenue West and, Kingston Road and Victoria Park Avenue areas.
It is alleged that in each incident:
the suspect entered retail business while wearing a mask to disguise their identity
the suspect produced a knife and made a demand for cash
the suspect took a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene
Members of the Hold Up Squad commenced an investigation and were able to identify the suspect.
On Saturday, May 4, 2024, members of the Hold Up Squad located the suspect who was already in custody on an unrelated matter.
Jason Kistindey, 54, of Toronto, was charged with:
seven counts of Robbery With Offensive Weapon
seven counts of Disguise With Intent
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 106.
