Two Women Arrested at Demonstration, Yonge Street and Bloor Street East area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of a two arrests made at a demonstration.
On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., police attended a demonstration in the Yonge Street and Bloor Street East area.
It is alleged that:
two female suspects attended the demonstration
they painted the sidewalk and then left the crowd shortly afterward
when officers attempted to arrest them for property damage, they fled
after a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended the suspects, who resisted arrest
one suspect pulled a concealed baseball bat from her jacket
the other suspect attempted to grab the officers’ duty belts
upon arrest, officers found several cans of spray paint and paint brushes in their possession
Octavia Kelsie, 20, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
Mischief / Damage to Property Under $5000
Disguise with Intent
Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest / Use a Weapon
Carry Concealed Weapon
She is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on November 21, 2024, at 2 p.m., in room 202.
Manar Hossain, 31, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
Mischief / Damage to Property Under $5000
Disguise with Intent
Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
Obstruct Peace Officer
She is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on November 20, 2024, at 2 p.m., in room 202.
