Two Youths Arrested in Carjacking Investigation, Finch Avenue East and Brimley Road area, Sheppard Avenue East and Kennedy Road area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of two arrests made in a Carjacking investigation.
On Monday, May 6, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m., police responded to a robbery call in the Finch Avenue East and Brimley Road area.
It is alleged that:
the victim parked their vehicle in a parking lot
two suspects travelling in a stolen vehicle parked beside the victim
the victim exited their vehicle when the suspects approached wearing masks to disguise their identity
one suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and a struggle ensued
the suspect took the victim’s purse and removed a quantity of cash
the suspects then attempted to enter the victim’s vehicle but were unable to
the suspects dropped the victim’s purse and fled the area in the stolen vehicle they arrived in
On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at approximately 12:52 p.m., police received a call from a victim reporting the theft of their vehicle in the Finch Avenue East and Brimley Road area.
It is alleged that:
the victim parked their vehicle in a parking lot
two suspects travelling in a stolen vehicle parked nearby
the suspects broke into the victim’s vehicle and drove it away from the area
On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at approximately 7:06 p.m., officers from 42 Division located both stolen vehicles and the two suspects in the Sheppard Avenue East and Kennedy Road area. The suspects began to flee on foot but officers were able to arrest them after a short foot pursuit.
A male youth, 16* was arrested and charged with:
Robbery
Theft of Motor Vehicle
two counts of Disguise With Intent
four counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over
six counts of Fail to Comply Undertaking
A male youth, 15* was arrested and charged with:
Robbery
Theft of Motor Vehicle
two counts of Disguise With Intent
four counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over
two counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under
seven counts of Fail to Comply Undertaking
They were scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 606.
