Mississauga drivers should prepare for significant closures on the QEW, Highway 403, and Highway 401 this week, as announced by the Ministry of Transportation. These closures aim to facilitate construction projects but may cause traffic delays for commuters.
The closures scheduled for this week include:
- Eastbound Highway 403: Two lanes closed at Hurontario Street from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on May 9-10.
- Eastbound QEW on-ramp: “All lanes closed” at Mississauga Road from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. until September.
- Westbound Highway 401 express: Lane closure between Mavis Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on May 5-11.
- Westbound QEW: Two alternating lane closures between Hurontario Street and Mississauga Road from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on May 6-15.
As construction activities increase with the arrival of spring, GTA construction company Wellcore Corporation highlights this season as a time for ramping up projects. Contractors and workers anticipate the busy summer months by undertaking road repairs, foundation work, and exterior renovations during this period.
