Ottawa, ON – Today, Justin Trudeau announced an energy cap that is yet another attack on Canadian workers and Canada’s world-class energy industry.
This Liberal policy will do three things: it will kill Canadian jobs and paycheques, it will raise the price of Canadian energy, and it will send dollars to dictators by sending energy production overseas.
If Justin Trudeau wants to help reduce emissions, he should be working with industry, innovators, and provinces to make Canada a global clean energy superpower.
Instead, after eight years, Trudeau and his Environment Minister are continuing their attack on Canada’s energy and natural resource sector. Today’s latest cap on Canadian energy production follows from Trudeau’s unconstitutional anti-development and no more pipelines law, Bill C-69, and his Unjust Transition Law, Bill C-50.
It is clear that Justin Trudeau and his radical Environment Minister’s real goal is to phase out the entire Canadian energy sector.
Conservatives will offer a common sense alternative to Justin Trudeau’s anti-energy agenda.
We will reduce emissions by greenlighting green technology. We will promote clean Canadian energy around the world and reduce reliance on coal and other dirtier forms of energy.
We will bring home powerful paycheques for our workers and stop sending dollars to dictators by removing gatekeepers and red tape and streamlining approvals for natural resource projects.
Today’s announcement is an attack on Canada’s energy sector and Canadian paycheques. Justin Trudeau is just not worth the cost.
