Richmond Hill: Leona Alleslev, Member of Parliament for Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill, hosted a family-friendly community barbeque and information fair titled Celebrating Canada Through Community on Sunday, July 8th.
The 400 residents that attended enjoyed with live musical performances from local artists and participated in fun family activities. Nineteen community and government organizations hosted booths to provide information on the important services and programs they offer to local residents. Participating organizations included Service Canada, Canadian Armed Forces, Music Aurora, Viva Rapid Transit, York Regional Police, Richmond Hill Fire and Emergency Services, Aurora Food Pantry, See What She Can Do, Town of Aurora, Access Richmond Hill, Alzheimer Society of York Region, Girl Guides of Canada, Soroptimist of York Region, l’AFRY, Oak Ridges Lions Club, Autism Ontario York Region, CHATS, Welcome Centre Immigrant Services, Activate Aurora and Sport Aurora.
Representatives from the Aurora Cultural Centre and the Aurora Seniors Association were also in attendance.
