Square One Shopping Centre, Mississauga
October 26th, 2019 [Mississauga, ON]: Diwali, the Festival of Lights was celebrated on October 27 by many in the South Asian community. This year, Brooke Bond Taj Mahal tea started the Diwali celebrations early at the Square One Shopping Centre from October 23 – 26, 2019. There were banners wishing Happy Diwali and the venue was decorated with lights, drapes and traditional Rangoli.
Over 3500 people who attended the event were welcomed by ambassadors in traditional attire with hot cups of delicious Taj Mahal tea and branded Taj jeera (cumin) cookies. In keeping with the brand’s classical music heritage, everyone was regaled by sitar maestro Rajesh Sant and fusion table player Mandeep Gandhi playing a mix of contemporary and classical music live.
Many of the event attendees knew and loved the brand from back home. They were happy to see Taj Mahal tea reach out and celebrate their festival with them. Over 2500 cups of tea were sampled and over 2500 cookies were distributed at the event. Visitors were also seen taking pictures at a special photo wall with the Taj Mahal and fireworks in the background. “Taj Mahal tea brings people together, in every day situations and at special occasions like Diwali, to savour the refreshing taste of their favourite tea brand”, said Partha Guha, Global Business Development Director, Ethnic Business Unit
Taj Mahal tea has also been creating Diwali buzz on social media with their “Win a trip to India” contest. To enter, participants comment/share a photo of their favourite tea moment with hashtags #TajMahalTea and #Contest on the brand’s Facebook page, Wah Taj Canada. The contest ends November 15, 2019.
Brooke Bond Taj Mahal tea, a popular brand back home in South Asian countries, is loved for its aroma and refreshing taste. It has been bringing consumers a premium tea experience by using choice tea leaves from Assam. With the happy turnout at the event, it is clear that Taj Mahal tea is ‘Wah Taj’ in Canada as well.
