BRAMPTON, ON (April 18, 2023): Brampton Library’s Springdale and Gore Meadows branches are pleased to host exhibitions and events from April 16 – 29, 2023, to showcase the rich history and culture of Sikhs in Canada and to provide space for people of all backgrounds to learn together.
The exhibitions are open to the public Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Programming is offered at Springdale Branch Library on Sunday, April 23 and virtually on Saturday, April 29 as follows:
- Art Hive, a free drop-in community art studio, Sunday, April 23: 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Springdale Branch Library, 10705 Bramalea Road
- Illustration workshop with Keerat Kaur Sunday, April 23: 1:30-3 p.m. at Springdale Branch Library, 10705 Bramalea Road
- Exploring the basics of Guru Granth Sahib Ji Saturday, April 29: 3 – 5 p.m. online
“The Sikh National Archives of Canada is delighted to collaborate with Brampton Library again this year to bring some exciting and deeply meaningful exhibitions and events in celebration of Sikh Heritage month. The events and exhibitions are open to all members of the community, we hope to come together to share the unique and diverse stories of Sikh Canadians, celebrate their contributions and find a deeper sense of connectedness with the wider community,” commented Rapinder Kaur, an organizer of the event.
