New Delhi, Dec 29 – Ola Electric plans to install over 4,000 charging points across cities as part of its ambitious charging infrastructure plan.
Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder, and CEO of Ola announced that the Hypercharger has been rolled out across all cities.
“At key BPCL pumps as well as residential complexes. 4000+ points up through next year. We’re installing across India and will make them operational in 6-8 weeks. Will be free for use till end June 22 for all customers,” he said in a tweet late Tuesday.
The Futurefactory of Ola has begun producing advanced two-wheeler electric vehicles. It has already started shipping e-scooters — Ola S1 and S1 Pro — albeit with a delay.
The Ola Scooter will be launched in India in the coming months and will be part of the company’s upcoming Hypercharger Network.
The company claims the charging network will have more than 100,000 charging points across 400 cities, making it the world’s largest and densest electric two-wheeler charging network.
The company plans to set up 5,000 charging points in India’s 100 cities in the first year alone, according to a statement.
In just 18 minutes, the company can charge its upcoming Ola Scooter for a 75 km range.
“By creating the world’s largest and densest two-wheeler charging network, we will dramatically accelerate the customer adoption of electric vehicles and rapidly move the industry to electric,” according to Aggarwal.
