BRAMPTON: Bundle up for winter adventures! The City of Brampton has family-friendly activities for residents to enjoy all winter long, presented by Spirit of Math and generously sponsored by No Frills.
Outdoor skating rinks
The City of Brampton is opening Gore Meadows Covered Outdoor Skating Rink as of December 3 at 10 am, weather permitting, for free and paid public skates. Registration for paid public skates at this location is recommended. Free public skate times are by drop-in and no registration is required. Gage Park Outdoor Skating Recreational Trail, Mount Pleasant Outdoor Skating Rink and Chinguacousy Park Skate Recreational Trail are scheduled to open beginning the weekend of December 17, weather permitting. Reservations are not required and outdoor skating at these locations is free.
The City will open additional outdoor skating rinks using artificial ice at Flower City Community Campus, Morris Kerbel Park (located behind Jim Archdekin Recreation Centre), Earnscliffe Park, and Sesquicentennial Park later in the season as weather conditions permit.
Rinks may temporarily close due to weather or maintenance requirements. Please check rink hours and status updates at www.brampton.ca/outdoorskating prior to your visit.
Those using the skating rinks and recreational trails are encouraged to wear a Canadian Standard Association (CSA) certified hockey helmet.
Ensure your skates are sharpened. Double-bladed skates are not permitted.
Skiing, snowboarding and tubing at Mount Chinguacousy
Mount Chinguacousy is our city’s destination for Skiing, Snowboarding and Tubing located at Chinguacousy Park. Mount Chinguacousy is scheduled to reopen for the season on December 27, weather and snow conditions permitting.
Winter Registration
Registration for Brampton Recreation’s winter sessional programs begins December 12 at 6 am for residents of Brampton. Programs are available to view online at www.brampton.ca/registerforprograms beginning December 5. Winter registered programs begin the week of January 9, 2023.
