Toronto: Canadian Newa Guthi recently felicitated its youngsters for their contribution to the organization and for their academic achievements.
Highlighting the program, Felicitation Committee coordinator Dr. Prajwal Pradhan emphasized the need for connecting youth for the continuation of the organization in the long run.
Delivering the welcome speech, executive member Dr. Krishna Kayastha spoke about the dire need of youth involvement in Guthi’s activities and emphasized the need to make arrangement for youth representation in the executive committee.
Delivering the opening presentation at the program, Guthi’s Vice President Uttam Makaju elucidated the significance and collaboration with youths in excelling any organizations as they posses huge strength in terms of quantity and quality.
Makaju also added that in order to preserve the culture and tradition through youth involvement, the community should create viable environment for them along with interesting and reasonable programs which matched their thoughts and aspirations.
At the program, Guthi’s Youth committee member Ms. Ayushna Shrestha made a presentation on “Importance of Youth Involvement In Newah Culture in Canada” while another member Ms. Christina Kayastha presented a talk on “Significance of Newah Community”.
Guthi’s General Secretary Bimal Shrestha threw light on Guthi’s attempt and programs on involving youth in its activities.
Guthi’s President Prakash Pradhan expressed his happiness for being able to honor youths for their invaluable contribution to the organization and their academic excellence.
During the program, guests from Nepal, Ms. Hema Manandhar, who has been organizing “ Miss Newah”in Nepal since last and Mr. Rajesh Shrestha appreciated Guthi for its endeavor in preserving Newah culture in Canada and also advised to conduct more programs on women empowerment.
Guthi’s youths were felicitated by President Prakash Pradhan, VP Uttam Makaju and General Secretary Bimal Shrestha with certificates and souvenir.
At the end of the program, guests were served with popular Newah combination of food varieties “Samyabaji”, specially served in the festivals and special occasion. A Newah cultural quiz was also conducted among the guests where all guests were entertained with traditional Newah “Lakhe Dance”.
