Exemptions and Clarifications: IRCC states that certain groups of applicants, including sponsored children (under 22 years old and without a spouse/partner) of principal applicants under family reunification, and principal applicants under humanitarian and compassionate consideration and public policy categories may be exempt from the Right of Permanent Residence (RPR) Fee under specific circumstances.
Additionally, permit holder class PR applicants cannot include accompanying family members in their applications. Instead, individuals eligible for PR through this class must submit separate applications as principal applicants.
These fee adjustments underscore IRCC’s ongoing efforts to streamline immigration processes while ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of Canada’s immigration system.
