The ICC unveiled the final schedule of the 2023 ODI World Cup, featuring India’s highly anticipated match against arch rivals Pakistan on October 15 in Ahmedabad. The tournament will be held across 10 different cities in India, with 10 teams competing, 8 of which qualified through the Cricket World Cup Super League.
India, as the host and two-time champions, will take on Pakistan in a marquee clash, igniting fans’ excitement. This edition marks the first time India will host the ODI World Cup as the sole host, with previous editions having co-host arrangements in 1987, 1996, and 2011.
The remaining two spots in the tournament will be determined after the ongoing qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe, concluding on July 9. The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the two semi-finals, while the final will be held in Ahmedabad.
The tournament is set to run from October 5 to November 19, featuring matches in ten cities, including Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata. The teams will play a Round-Robin format, facing each other nine times, and the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals.
The Semi-Finals are scheduled for November 15 in Mumbai and November 16 in Kolkata, with the Final taking place on November 19 in Ahmedabad. Cricket enthusiasts can look forward to an exhilarating and unforgettable event as the world’s best teams battle for supremacy on Indian soil.
