TORONTO: ‘Nepathya’ the popular folk rock band of Nepal, best known for mingling folk melodies with modern western- influenced rock music, has rocked Nepalese music enthusiasts in Toronto with full swing.
Renditioned at the iconic Massey Hall Toronto, over two thousands people enjoyed with beautifully crafted folk and other songs of Nepal.
Speaking at the concert, band’s lead and vocalist Amrit Gurung appealed to all to practice the Nepali language with their children and respect the culture of the country where they are living. Mr. Gurung further urged concert attendees not to forget to support their motherland with their skills or any other forms that benefits Nepal.
The band, had performed very successfully at at the globally popular Wembley Arena in 2013 in UK. This musical tour is their first one in Canada and they will e performing in some other cities of Canada too.
Besides folk songs, the band presented various other songs that were dedicated to an array of philanthropic and patriotic values.
Another distinctive and well known feature of the band was to be able to use contemporary tunes that have strong ties with indigenous music and songs using local dialects from rural Nepal. The band also conducts humanitarian services to the needy people in Nepal and the concert was named “Music for Humanity”.
