Arrests Made in Homicide Investigation
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have arrested and charged three individuals in a homicide investigation that occurred in Mississauga.
On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, just after 5:00 p.m., Peel Regional Police received a 911 call advising of gunshots in the area of Battleford Road and Glen Erin Drive in the City of Mississauga. Police and Emergency Services responded and located a male suffering from gunshot wounds. This male was transported to a local trauma centre where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The male was later identified as, Sean Murphy, a 26-year-old man from Mississauga.
On Sunday, April 14, 2024, Homicide investigators arrested and charged three individuals.
A young person from Mississauga has been charged with Second Degree Murder. Another young person from Mississauga has been charged with Accessory to Murder After the Fact Luke Campbell, an 18-year-old man from Mississauga has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Breach Court Order All three individuals were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identities of the Young Persons charged in this investigation are protected.
