Actor Sanjay Dutt has joined the growing list of celebrities venturing into the alcohol industry by investing in the alcobev startup, Cartel & Bros. The company has launched a Scotch whiskey named ‘The Glenwalk,’ a product that Dutt has taken a keen interest in.
The brand is currently managed by a shared partnership between Mokksh Sani and Mahesh Sani, the masterminds behind Living Liquidz, one of India’s largest liquor retail chains. Additionally, Jittin S Merani, the driving force behind Drinq bar academy, and Rohan Nihalani, the owner of Morgan Beverages, are involved in the venture.
Diving into The Glenwalk, Jittin S Merani highlighted that unlike other Scotch whiskies available in India, which are typically imported and then bottled with Indian water, The Glenwalk is both made and bottled in Scotland, using authentic Scottish water. This ensures an unparalleled taste and authenticity in the realm of Scotch whiskey.
When asked about his association with the brand and his decision to invest in a whiskey brand, Sanjay Dutt emphasized the immense market for whiskey in India. As the largest consumer of whiskey globally, India holds a special place in the heart of whiskey enthusiasts. Dutt reminisced about his own journey with alcohol, which began with whiskey during his teenage years. He shared memories of sneaking out with friends to experience his first taste of the amber spirit.
