The Ontario Schools Cricket Association (OSCA) held an event for young cricketers in Brampton, Ont. on Saturday, December 2. Local and provincial government representatives were in attendance, along with Abhishek Bhadauria, TD Wealth Investment Advisor, who highlighted the demand for recreational programs for school-aged cricketers across the province.
“Sport in Canada has always played a big role in bringing families and communities together,” said Bhadauria. “Cricket is a sport that is near and dear to the hearts of many here, but it’s also something that is relatively new to others. At TD, we are proud to help bring the community together by making cricket accessible to more people across the province.”
By supporting OSCA’s programs, TD is helping to connect communities and encourage better health. Community giving – something that has always been part of the bank’s DNA – helps to drive positive change, while also helping people to feel a sense of belonging.
“We are excited to see these students, their families, and the community at large sharing experiences and building meaningful connection with each other,” said Bhadauria. “We look forward to supporting the new generation of cricket players.”
OSCA is an organization dedicated to bringing the active and healthy sport of cricket to Ontario schools through inclusive cricket programs that fosters active participation through play. This most recent event, held at the Save Max Sports Centre, saw 150 young cricketers in attendance to help kick off kicked off its winter program.
