TORONTO – Regular service resumed on Toronto’s downtown subway line halfway through the evening rush.
The transit commission says a stretch of the line was closed for hours _ between Osgoode and Bloor-Yonge stations _ just before noon because of an issue on the tracks.
Spokesman Stuart Green says one train had to be evacuated.
The 54 passengers aboard had to walk through the tunnel.
Green says shuttle buses that were brought in will continue to run for some time to relieve backlogs.
