[February 1, 2024] – Hindu Community of Canada President Sudhir Bhalla, Canadian Academy of Sports Education and Culture (CASEC) Vice-President Mahendra Bhandari and Director Kavita Manyal proudly hosted a successful Republic Day of India celebration at the City of Markham on January 26, 2024.
The community event was graced by Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Deputy Mayor Michael Chan, Regional Councillor Joe Li, and Councillors Ritch Lau, Amanda Collucci, and Isa Lee, CAO Andy Taylor, City staff and a diverse audience, reinforcing the cultural vibrancy of the community. 
The celebration featured a spectacular unfurling flag ceremony complemented by singing, speeches, and cultural festivities. City of Markham proudly displayed the Indian national flag for a remarkable seven days, symbolizing unity, diversity, and cultural pride.
Hindu Community of Canada and CASEC Canada extend their gratitude to the Mayor, City Councillors, volunteers and the community for their unwavering support in making this Republic Day celebration a resounding success.
