National Peace Officer’s Memorial Run, Thursday, September 26, 2024, Opening Ceremonies, Temporary Road Closures

On Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., the 20th annual National Peace Officer’s Memorial Run opening ceremonies will kick off at the Ontario Police Memorial, 23 Queens Park Crescent, Toronto.
This event honours officers across Canada who have been killed in the line of duty. This year, one officer who has died in the line of duty in the last 12 months will be honoured, as well as five historical officers, will be added to the honour roll.
As well, Constable Todd Baylis of the Toronto Police Service, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on June 17, 1994, will be honored with the presentation of a memorial plaque to his family.
Following the opening ceremonies, there will be a 5km run.
The following road closure will be in place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Northbound Queens Park Crescent from College Street to Wellesley Street
The following temporary rolling road closures will take place between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.:
Northbound lanes of Queens Park Crescent to University Avenue
Southbound lanes of University Avenue to King Street
Eastbound lanes of King Street to Parliament Street
Southbound on Parliament Street to Front Street
The 5km run is open to the public. Please join us in honouring our fallen.
